Katie Price has opened up about her deep worries for her son Harvey’s health, sharing a heartbreaking update about the challenges he is currently facing.
Katie revealed that she is extremely concerned about Harvey’s weight and fears it could seriously affect his life. Harvey, who is now 23 years old, has struggled with obesity for many years because of his medical condition. According to Katie, his weight has reached a level where doctors have already warned that he could be at risk of a heart attack if things do not change.
Speaking emotionally, Katie said that during the night she sometimes hears Harvey struggling to breathe while he sleeps. She explained that he often snores heavily, wheezes, and occasionally seems to stop breathing for a moment, which leaves her feeling terrified.
She admitted that every time she hears those sounds, she becomes worried that something serious could happen. Katie said she fears that if Harvey does not lose weight, his health could continue to decline and eventually lead to a heart attack.
The former model said she has been trying everything possible to find help for her son. She explained that she has already been speaking with doctors and asking about medications that could help Harvey lose weight. One of the treatments she has been trying to get for him is a medication called Mounjaro, which is sometimes used to help people reduce weight.
However, Katie said she has not yet been able to arrange the treatment. Because of that, she told her sister Sophie that she may ask her followers on Instagram for help finding a private doctor who could provide the treatment for Harvey.
While speaking about the situation, Katie made it clear that she was not criticizing the NHS. She said the doctors understand that Harvey falls into the obese category, but she feels she must keep searching for more solutions to protect his health.
Katie also spoke about how emotional the situation has become for her as a mother. She said that seeing Harvey’s weight continue to increase breaks her heart. She explained that years ago doctors had already warned her that Harvey would be at serious risk of a heart attack if he did not lose weight.
Because of this, she feels pressure to take action and find any possible way to help him.
Katie said she would never attempt to give him injections herself because that would not be medically appropriate. Instead, she wants proper medical supervision if he begins any new treatment.
She explained that Harvey’s condition makes everything much more difficult. Harvey lives with Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes a constant feeling of hunger and an uncontrollable urge to eat. Because of this condition, people with Prader-Willi syndrome often struggle with severe weight gain.
Last summer, Katie revealed that Harvey weighed around 30 stone, which is roughly 188 kilograms. She said seeing his weight reach that level has been extremely painful for her as a parent.
Harvey also lives with several other health conditions. In addition to Prader-Willi syndrome, he has septo-optic dysplasia, ADHD, autism, and oppositional defiant disorder. These conditions make daily life more challenging for him.
Katie said his current weight is affecting his quality of life. She explained that simple tasks, like putting on trainers or walking around, can be very difficult for him now.
Despite the challenges, Katie said she remains fully committed to helping her son. She said she loves Harvey deeply and will continue searching for ways to improve his health and help him live a better life.
In the past, she has tried different ways to help him stay active. She even enrolled him in a gym and introduced him to boxing in hopes that exercise could support his health.
But she admitted that his condition makes weight management extremely complicated, and she worries every day about his future.
Katie said it is heartbreaking to watch someone go through such a difficult struggle, especially when Harvey does not fully understand what is happening to his body.
Still, she says she will continue fighting to find the best medical support possible to give her son a healthier and safer life.
