Donald Trump introduced his new cabinet during a press conference and said he is “very impressed” with his choices so far. Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has been warned that Britain could face tough economic times if Trump imposes tariffs on imported goods. Starmer is set to meet with Trump on Thursday.

During the press conference on Wednesday, Trump criticized Europe and confirmed his plans to impose a 25% tariff on goods imported from the EU. He claimed the EU was created “to screw the US” and highlighted the $300 billion trade deficit between the US and the EU. Trump said, “We’ll be announcing it very soon. It will be 25% generally, on cars and other things. They don’t accept our cars or farm products, but we accept everything from them.”

Political commentator Nigel Nelson warned that Britain could also face these tariffs, despite Labour’s efforts to strengthen ties with the US. Nelson told GB News, “Trump seems determined to tariff European goods. If he includes Britain, we could face grim economic times. If we retaliate, he says America will go cold turkey. Whether he means what he says is always a question, but if he follows through, it could be bad for Britain.”

Nelson also commented on Trump’s new cabinet, which includes figures like Elon Musk. He said, “These people mean business, and they will put America first. The problem is, it’s very dangerous. Trump keeps getting his way, and people are going along with it.”

GB News host Martin Daubney agreed, calling Trump’s cabinet a “room full of action men and women.” He added, “No matter what you think of Trump, he’s a political phenomenon. Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, said this is the best team he’s ever worked with. These people mean business and will put America first.”

In summary, Trump’s plans to impose tariffs on the EU could have serious economic consequences for Britain, and his new cabinet is seen as a strong, action-oriented team focused on putting America first.
