Donald Trump Humiliated as Giant Golden Statue Meant as a Tribute Exposes the One Thing He Keeps Trying to Hide

A huge golden statue of US President Donald Trump has caused a lot of reactions after it was displayed inside the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France. The statue has attracted attention not just because of its size and bright gold colour, but because of the unusual way the American president is shown.

The statue, which stands more than eight feet tall, was created by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt. It is called “The Orange Plague” and is also known as “King of Injustice.” The artist used 23-carat gold leaf to cover the sculpture, giving it a shiny appearance.

However, what has shocked many people is how Trump is presented in the artwork.

The statue shows the American president completely naked, with his stomach hanging out, while sitting on the shoulders of a thin and struggling man. Trump is also holding a long golf club as the man beneath him appears to be struggling to carry his weight.

The artist explained that the sculpture was not created to praise Trump. Instead, it was designed to send a political message about power, leadership and the suffering of ordinary people.

A message attached to the statue makes its meaning even clearer. It describes someone sitting on another person’s back while claiming to want to help, but refusing to get off and remove the burden.

According to the artist, the message is meant to show how powerful leaders can claim to care about struggling people while continuing to benefit from their suffering.

Galschiøt has been creating political artwork for many years. His sculptures have appeared in different countries, often drawing attention to injustice, human rights and political problems.

On his website, the Danish artist strongly criticised Trump, describing him as a major threat to democratic values, international cooperation and efforts to tackle climate change.

The sculpture also appears to take inspiration from the famous story “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a proud ruler who walks around without clothes while people pretend that he is properly dressed.

Danish politician Per Clausen was responsible for inviting the artist to display the sculpture at the European Parliament.

When asked about how Trump might react, Clausen suggested that political leaders should be able to accept criticism, including criticism expressed through art.

The golden statue quickly attracted attention on social media, where people shared photographs and expressed different opinions about its meaning.

Some people praised the artist for using a creative way to criticise the American president. Others described the statue as embarrassing and suggested that it should be displayed in Washington, DC, where more Americans could see it.

One social media user described the sculpture as a powerful picture of the burden ordinary people carry under political leaders.

However, not everyone supported the display.

Some critics argued that the European Parliament should spend more time discussing important political issues instead of allowing artwork that could be seen as insulting to a foreign leader.

Even one person who said they strongly disliked Trump questioned whether displaying such a statue inside Parliament was a sensible decision.

The artist is expected to take the sculpture to the COP31 United Nations climate conference in Turkey in November 2026.

This is not the first time the artwork has appeared in public. A copper version was displayed during a climate protest at COP30 in Brazil in November 2025. Protesters also handed out smaller versions made using 3D printing.

Trump has faced similar artistic criticism in the United States.

An anonymous group known as Secret Handshake has previously displayed several controversial sculptures in Washington, DC.

In June 2025, the group installed a large golden thumbs-up sculpture crushing the crown of the Statue of Liberty. The artwork was called “Dictator Approved.”

In another controversial display, the group created a nearly 12-foot golden sculpture showing Trump alongside Jeffrey Epstein in a scene inspired by the famous film Titanic.

A separate golden toilet was also displayed near the Lincoln Memorial, with a message describing it as a throne suitable for a king.

The White House criticised the sculpture featuring Trump and Epstein, with a spokesperson questioning why the artists were not creating similar works about Democrats who had connections with Epstein.

Trump’s preference for gold decorations has also attracted public attention over the years.

His Oval Office features several gold decorations, and his choices have sometimes become a subject of jokes and political criticism.

Former President Barack Obama has also made jokes about some of Trump’s gold decorations at the White House.

But the latest sculpture in Europe has attracted particular attention because of its unusual design and the message behind it.

As of the report, neither Trump nor the White House had publicly responded to the statue displayed at the European Parliament.

For now, the artwork continues to divide opinions, with some people seeing it as a powerful political message and others questioning whether such a display is appropriate inside one of Europe’s most important political institutions.
