Mum who’s spent £15k on Christmas presents for son ‘doesn’t know how she’ll pay bills’

A social media influencer has admitted that her finances are under serious pressure after spending an enormous £15,000 on Christmas presents, trips, and luxury treats for her young son, leaving her worried about how she will manage in the months ahead.

Jodie Weston, who is 32, openly said her savings are quickly running out after what she described as an over-the-top festive season for her two-year-old son, Koa-Zayde. She explained that while she wanted to give her child a magical Christmas, the reality of her spending is now hitting hard, especially with January approaching and bills still needing to be paid.

Jodie revealed that a large part of the money went on a special weekly advent calendar filled with gifts and activities in the lead-up to Christmas Day. Beyond that, she paid thousands of pounds on luxury family experiences, including a £2,000 stay at Centre Parcs, £450 for a dinosaur-themed soft play pass, and a trip to Legoland.

The celebrations did not stop there, as she also planned a festive visit to Lapland and bought matching Cartier bracelets for herself and her toddler, along with designer pyjamas for Christmas Eve. She even looked into the idea of having a photograph of them projected onto the moon, something she admits now sounds extreme.

At the time, Jodie said she believed she could afford it all. However, things changed quickly when her income dropped by about £1,000 a month. She explained that work as an influencer often slows down at the beginning of the year, which makes the situation even more stressful. She admitted that if she does not change her spending habits fast, her remaining savings could disappear almost overnight.

She described the coming year as worrying and said 2026 is shaping up to be very difficult for her financially. According to Jodie, the influencer world has become increasingly unstable, largely because of artificial intelligence. She said AI has caused sudden changes in the industry, reducing opportunities and making her feel like her job could vanish at any moment. The uncertainty has left her feeling scared and forced to think seriously about finding new ways to earn money.

Despite all this, Jodie is still planning to travel to Abu Dhabi to celebrate the New Year. She said she likes to begin the year feeling positive and glamorous and plans to deal with the financial reality once she returns home. For now, she is continuing her usual lifestyle, even though she knows tough decisions are coming.

She also made it clear that she does not want her son to feel any of the stress she is under. She said she is determined to protect him from financial worries and will do everything she can to make sure his life remains happy and comfortable, even if that means putting her own concerns aside for the moment.

Jodie has faced criticism online, especially from other mothers who accused her of showing off or being out of touch with everyday struggles. Some have called her a “rich snob,” but she has dismissed those comments, saying she believes many of the critics are simply jealous of her lifestyle.

For now, she says she is trying to enjoy life while she can, even as the pressure quietly builds behind the scenes. With her savings shrinking and her income uncertain, she knows that reality is catching up fast, and big changes may soon be unavoidable.
