Killer Axel Rudakubana To Face Devastating Consequences After Brutal Prison Attack That Shocked Britain

Something seriously troubling is happening inside Britain’s prisons. Dangerous prisoners people who have committed horrific crimes are somehow getting their hands on items that can be used as weapons, and they’re attacking prison officers with them. It’s hard to understand how this is being allowed to happen.
Take the latest incident. A prisoner known as the “Southport killer,” Axel Rudakubana, who murdered three young girls in a dance class last summer, reportedly threw boiling water at a guard at HMP Belmarsh. This happened when the officer looked through the spy-hole to check on him. The boiling water was thrown straight into the officer’s face. The big question is: why does someone as dangerous as Rudakubana have access to a kettle in his prison cell? How is he allowed to boil water at all?
And this isn’t an isolated event. Just a few weeks ago, Hashem Abedi—the man involved in the Manchester Arena bombing—launched an attack at HMP Frankland. He had already assaulted guards before, yet he was still given access to the prison kitchen. While there, he melted butter and threw it in officers’ faces, then used a sharp object made from a baking tray to stab them. It was a miracle none of them died.
In another shocking case, a guard at HMP Woodhill had their throat slashed with a homemade blade. This happened in what’s supposed to be a high-security prison. Former officer Claire Lewis also came forward recently to speak about her own traumatic experience. Fifteen years ago, while working at HMP Frankland, she was stabbed in the back with a broken glass bottle stolen from the prison canteen. That injury ended her career.
How are inmates able to get kettles, kitchen tools, or glass bottles? These are extremely dangerous items in the wrong hands. Instead of letting high-risk prisoners near things that can be turned into weapons, why not serve lukewarm drinks in paper cups and ban any form of glass or metal near them?
