Fans of The Chase were left amused after spotting a funny link between the names of the contestants on a recent episode. Host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players—Dale, Leslie, Orla, and Gordon—to take on chaser Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha. However, viewers quickly noticed that the names sounded like types of cheese: “Gordon Ola” resembles Gorgonzola, and “Leslie Dale” sounds like Wensleydale.
Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts, with one user joking, “I just realised the strained attempt of the cheese pun. God dammit,” while another called it the “most cheesiest and cringiest names ever.” A third fan pointed out, “Gordon Ola and Leslie Dale. Two types of cheese.”
During the show, Dale, Leslie, and Orla each earned £3,000 in their cash-builder rounds but were caught by the chaser. Gordon, however, broke the streak by earning £6,000 and making it to the final round. Despite answering 12 questions correctly in two minutes, Gordon was caught by Paul with 47 seconds left.
This isn’t the first time The Chase has featured contestants with linked names. Previous episodes have included beach-themed names like Shelley, Cliff, Coral, and Sandy, as well as an Avengers-themed team with Tony, Steve, Thor, and Natasha.
