Sadiq Khan Should Apologize and Then Resign! He’s Not Fit for Office Says Lizzie Cundy

143views

There are growing calls for London Mayor Sadiq Khan to apologize to a firearms officer recently cleared in the Chris Kaba case. Media personality Lizzie Cundy has led the charge, issuing strong words against Khan’s handling of the situation. Cundy stated, Sadiq Khan should apologize and then resign! He’s an absolute disgrace, and I don’t think he’s fit to hold office.”

The criticism comes after Khan’s initial response to the death of Chris Kaba, a young Black man fatally shot by police last year during an attempted arrest. Khan had expressed sympathy for Kaba’s family, acknowledging the pain and anger felt by Black communities in London. However, critics, including Cundy, argue that Khan’s remarks unfairly cast suspicion on the firearms officer before a full investigation could take place.

In a recent City Hall meeting, former London Assembly member Susan Hall also pressed Khan for an apology to the officer, arguing that his comments fueled an anti-police sentiment. Khan responded by reiterating his belief in supporting both the police and accountability but did not issue a direct apology, a stance that further frustrated his critics.

Cundy’s sharp criticism reflects a wider debate over Khan’s leadership and approach to policing. She also highlighted ongoing issues in London, such as rising crime and public safety concerns, which she feels demand greater focus from the Mayor.
