Phillip Schofield brutally snubbed by Holly Willoughby as key detail in ITV DOI axe statement exposed

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were once a well-known duo, hosting both Dancing On Ice and This Morning together. But things have clearly changed. When Holly recently shared a goodbye message to Dancing On Ice after ITV confirmed the show was being cancelled, she didn’t mention Phillip at all—even though they presented the show side by side for many years.
On Thursday, Holly posted several throwback pictures from her time on the skating competition. But viewers quickly noticed that Phillip had been cropped out of many of them. In her long caption, she thanked ITV, the crew, the celebrities, and even joked about how helpful Deep Heat and fake tan were during the show—but not a single word about Phillip.
This comes after Phillip left all of his ITV roles in 2023 following the news of a relationship he had with a much younger colleague. Although it was described as “unwise but not illegal,” it caused a huge scandal. After publicly speaking about it in an emotional interview, Phillip disappeared from TV. He has since returned quietly on social media and appeared in a Channel 5 program where he talked about what happened.
Holly and Phillip had presented Dancing On Ice together since its debut in 2006, took a break when the show was paused in 2014, then returned together in 2018. But after Phillip’s departure, Holly continued hosting the show alongside comedian Stephen Mulhern.
Now that the show is officially ending, ITV says it will not return in 2026. Holly, who is 44, shared her goodbye on Instagram, calling the show “a burst of glittering, dazzling light” that brought joy every winter. She praised skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and thanked the fans, but made no mention of the man who shared the screen with her for nearly two decades.
ITV’s decision to cancel the show comes as viewing numbers dropped sharply. The most recent season finale, won by Coronation Street actor Sam Aston, drew just 2.7 million viewers—far below the 12 million peak the show once enjoyed.
