Nigel Farage has responded to harsh comments made by US Vice President JD Vance, who called Britain a “random country” during a discussion about peace talks with Ukraine.
After a controversial meeting between former President Donald Trump and Ukraine’s leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Vance argued that the US should benefit economically from Ukraine’s future and that getting involved was the only way to ensure peace.
He also criticized the plan to send 20,000 British and French soldiers as peacekeepers in Ukraine, calling Britain “some random country that hasn’t fought a war in 30 years.”
When asked about Vance’s remarks, Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform Party, strongly disagreed, saying: “JD Vance is completely wrong. For 20 years in Afghanistan, relative to our size compared to the US, we spent the same amount of money, sent the same number of troops, and suffered the same losses.”
