Prince Harry has come under heavy criticism again, this time from royal author Tom Bower, after being caught on a doorbell camera knocking on strangers’ doors in London. The Duke of Sussex was seen trying to find a friend’s house while walking alone in a busy neighborhood — without any security team in sight.
This surprising moment came just days after Harry complained that he could only visit the UK safely if he was officially invited, which would then give him police protection. He had earlier lost a legal case where he demanded that British taxpayers should pay for his security whenever he visits the UK.
Speaking to GB News, Bower called the act “embarrassing” and said it exposed Harry as a hypocrite. “He’s been in court trying to get us to pay millions for his armed security, saying he’s not safe,” Bower said. “And now look — he’s out knocking on doors, lost in London, completely alone.”
The Sun newspaper published the image of Harry taken from a doorbell camera. According to witnesses, he knocked on at least three houses before finally finding the correct one. One resident said their housekeeper didn’t recognize him, while another source said he seemed completely unsure of where he was going, walking up and down a long road.
To make things more awkward, Harry reportedly had food delivered to his friend’s house using Deliveroo, which goes against security protocols for high-profile figures like him.
GB News presenter Dan Wootton pointed out how odd it is for someone who says they feel “unsafe in the UK” to casually roam around unprotected. Wootton added, “It’s hard to feel sorry for him anymore when he’s doing the exact opposite of what he complains about.”
Tom Bower suggested Harry’s legal fight was less about safety and more about attacking the monarchy. “He wants to cause trouble for his family,” Bower claimed. “This wasn’t about security — this was about attention.”
Bower also called Harry “a sad man,” claiming the prince is feeling lonely, without purpose, and realizing too late that leaving the royal family was a huge mistake. “He wants to be relevant again. But all this does is make him look lost — literally and emotionally,” he said.
Many critics are now questioning why Harry can wander the streets and attend concerts without protection but won’t bring his kids to visit King Charles unless he’s guaranteed police guards. With the King currently undergoing cancer treatment, some have accused Harry of using his children as emotional leverage.
Adding more fuel to the fire, Meghan Markle posted cheerful photos of her and Harry at a Beyoncé concert. The couple appeared happy, with Harry even wearing a hat that featured the flags of the UK, US, and Africa — and the names “Archie,” “Lily,” and “My Love,” which fans believe is Meghan’s nickname.
But royal watchers weren’t impressed. “It’s all PR,” said Bower. “They post happy photos every time bad headlines appear. It’s a show.”
Former Scotland Yard detective Peter Blexley added that Harry walking alone was likely his own choice. “In private security, only the client can stand the team down. So Harry clearly told them to back off — maybe because he was going to do something he didn’t want them to see,” he hinted.
Meanwhile, journalist Linda Jubilee said Harry’s actions seem “narcissistic” and out of touch. “People are struggling with bills, and he wants us to pay for his security while he walks around London by himself? It doesn’t add up.”
Whether it was carelessness, defiance, or a cry for attention, this latest incident has once again put Prince Harry in the middle of controversy. One thing’s clear: the drama between the Sussexes and the royal family isn’t ending anytime soon.
