Putin breaks his own ‘ceasefire’ with savage Ukraine bombing as 1,200 Russians wiped out

Vladimir Putin’s forces have broken the Victory Day ceasefire he personally declared, according to Ukraine. The temporary truce, which was meant to begin on May 8 to mark Russia’s annual VE Day celebrations, was reportedly violated within just a few hours.

Ukraine said that instead of respecting the ceasefire, Russian troops dropped powerful glide bombs on Ukrainian territory. These bombs, known for their high precision and destructive power, struck several areas, causing fear and damage despite the announcement of peace.

At the same time, Ukraine’s military reported that it had killed or wounded about 1,200 Russian soldiers over the past 24 hours. This adds to the already high number of Russian casualties since the war began. According to Ukraine’s estimates, Russia has now lost nearly 962,000 troops since the full-scale invasion started in February 2022.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed the Russian ceasefire as a fake gesture and instead called for a serious, longer 30-day ceasefire to allow for proper peace talks. He said short, one-sided truces only lead to more bloodshed and do not help civilians who are still suffering under constant attacks.

The fighting continues, and both countries are accusing each other of breaking agreements. Global leaders are calling for real steps toward ending the war, but so far, violence on the ground shows no sign of stopping.
