GB News airs ‘humiliating’ blow to Keir Starmer: ‘Out of work!’

GB News delivered harsh criticism of Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a segment this weekend focused on his government’s handling of illegal immigration. Commentator Lizzie Cundy joined presenter Ben Leo to express frustration over the large sums of money the Labour government has spent trying to stop migrants from crossing the Channel — efforts they say have done little to solve the problem.

During the show, Ben asked, “If these people have already been denied asylum, why can’t we just send them back to their home countries?” Lizzie strongly agreed and added her own opinion: “Exactly! I’ve always said we need to leave the European Convention on Human Rights. But what’s different about this plan compared to the Rwanda one? That was already set up before. It just seems strange.”

She continued, blaming Starmer’s pride for cancelling the previous Conservative government’s Rwanda deportation plan. “It’s all about his ego. He cancelled Rwanda, and now he’s bringing in something very similar. It doesn’t add up. And for him to say he’s ‘cracking down on gangs’ — he couldn’t even crack open a chocolate egg at Easter!”

Ben laughed and responded, “You’ve been waiting to say that one, haven’t you?” Lizzie didn’t back down. She said, “I’m serious. Where is the plan? Where are the details? The goals? As always, Starmer talks a lot but gives us nothing. He’s acting more like a lawyer without a job than a real leader.”

At one point, Ben tried to defend Starmer, pointing out that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) had actually supported Starmer’s new approach. “The UN says, ‘Well done, Sir Keir’,” Ben noted.

But Lizzie wasn’t convinced. “If this is such a good plan, then why didn’t he just stick with the Rwanda plan? That was meant to scare off people from making the dangerous journey across the Channel. But instead, look what’s happened — 705 people crossed in just one day. Over 2,000 have come this week alone. That’s a 43% increase compared to this time last year. It’s just pathetic.”

When Starmer became Prime Minister last year, he officially cancelled the Conservatives’ plan to send illegal migrants to Rwanda. He dismissed the scheme as a “gimmick” and claimed it would have removed less than 1% of those arriving in small boats.
