ITV Good Morning Britain viewers all have same complaint as Yvette Cooper gets ‘easy ride’

24views

Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley were back hosting Good Morning Britain on ITV. They talked to Home Secretary Yvette Cooper about some big news, but many viewers weren’t happy with how the interview went.

During the show, they discussed important topics like better online safety rules, new police powers to tackle stolen phones, and a big rise in energy bills. The energy bill increase, set for April, will go up by just over 6%, which is more than expected and will make things harder for many people.

Later, Yvette Cooper joined the show to talk about the energy bill changes. But fans felt Susanna and Richard didn’t ask enough tough questions. Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustration.

One person wrote: “Yvette Cooper got an easy time on GMB. No real challenge about the energy bill rise. Not surprised since Susanna Reid was wearing red (Labour’s color).”

Another said: “Why didn’t you ask her about the Labour MP who got only 10 weeks in jail? Why is he still getting paid? When’s the by-election? This is unfair justice.”

A third added: “That was a soft interview with Yvette Cooper. No tough questions asked.”

A fourth complained: “The Home Secretary got an easy ride. It felt like a Labour Party ad.”

Others were also upset, saying: “Why didn’t you push her on the police visiting GMA about a Facebook post?” and “She can’t even answer a simple question about public safety, let alone the energy price cap.”

In short, viewers felt the hosts didn’t challenge Yvette Cooper enough during the interview.
