Prince William is set to meet with Sir Keir Starmer, the UK Prime Minister, later today. This meeting will take place after Prince William attends a Holocaust Memorial service. The discussion will be private, as it’s customary for the future king to meet with the Prime Minister once a year.
At the same time, King Charles will also honor the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz in Poland, similar to Prince William’s plans.
This meeting follows a recent phone call between US President Donald Trump and Sir Keir Starmer, where Trump spoke highly of the British Royal Family. He shared his admiration and respect for both King Charles and Prince William.
Today, Prince William will also pay tribute to two significant historical events: the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau (the largest Nazi concentration camp) and the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Bosnia.
A royal insider mentioned that Prince William feels privileged to participate in such an important event, as he is deeply committed to remembering those who suffered and lost their lives in past tragedies.
Back in 2020, Prince William and his wife, Kate, attended a ceremony in Westminster to mark the 75th anniversary of the Holocaust. During the event, Prince William read a letter written by a friend of his great-grandmother, Princess Alice, which highlighted her courageous efforts to save Jewish people in Athens.
