Carol Vorderman Sends Urgent Warning to Voters Planning to Support Reform UK Ahead of the Senedd Election

Carol Vorderman has spoken out strongly about the upcoming Welsh election, warning people about the growing influence of Reform UK and encouraging everyone to vote.

Speaking before an event in Cardiff, she said that Wales is at an important turning point, with the election on May 7 offering a real chance for change. She believes the country could move in a new direction, but only if people take part in voting.

She criticised Reform UK heavily, describing it as disorganised and out of touch, and said it should not be allowed to gain power. She also claimed the party has backing from wealthy foreign individuals, which she sees as a concern.

She urged people across Wales to come out and vote, saying it is important for protecting the country’s future. She ended her message with a strong show of support for Wales.

Vorderman also criticised Reform UK’s leader, Nigel Farage, calling him overly sensitive and dishonest. She brought up the case of Nathan Gill, a former leading figure in the party in Wales. Gill was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison after admitting he took money in exchange for giving speeches and interviews that supported Russia. It was reported he received up to £40,000 for helping pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine.

At the time, Gill was serving as a Member of the European Parliament. He had accepted money from Oleg Voloshyn, who has previously been described by the US government as someone linked to Russian intelligence interests.

Vorderman’s comments come just weeks before the Welsh Parliament election, which is expected to be very close. This election will also be the first to use a new voting system designed to better reflect how people actually vote across Wales.

Although she is widely known as a TV presenter, Vorderman has become more active in politics in recent years. She often speaks about the need for changes in the political system and has even said she might consider becoming an independent politician in the future. She has also criticised Farage in the past, comparing some of his language to that used by Donald Trump, especially when it comes to dismissing criticism as “fake news.”

She has also been involved in wider political discussions, including working on election coverage with Channel 4 and writing a book about how she thinks politics should be improved. She often describes herself as strongly against Conservative politics rather than fully supporting any one party.

Her latest comments come as she prepares to appear at a live recording of The Guilty Feminist in Cardiff. The event will focus on the upcoming election and the current political situation. It will be hosted by comedian Deborah Frances-White and will also feature Welsh performers like Kiri Pritchard-McLean.

The show aims to mix comedy, music, and serious discussion, looking at how politics is changing and what people can do about it. Deborah Frances-White said the election is likely to be very close and that it really matters who ends up making decisions that affect everyday life. She encouraged people to come together, stay aware, and stand up for the rights of women and other groups who may be at risk of being ignored or treated unfairly.

Organisers also said they want the event to feel positive and empowering, bringing people together to think, talk, and respond to political changes. They added that tickets are being offered at lower prices for students and people on lower incomes, so more people can take part.
