Heather Mae says her life changed forever after a terrifying medical emergency that happened during what was supposed to be a normal evening with friends.
She was attending a dinner party in Vancouver, Canada, when she suddenly began to feel a heavy tightness in her chest. At first, she didn’t realise how serious it was, but the feeling quickly became alarming.
Her fiancé at the time rushed her into the car and started driving her to the hospital. On the way there, Heather suffered a massive pulmonary embolism, a deadly blood clot that blocks the arteries in the lungs. As her body began to shut down, she says her awareness slipped away in a way she had never experienced before.
Heather describes being swallowed by a darkness so deep and complete that it felt overwhelming. She says it wasn’t just dark, but a kind of blackness beyond anything she had ever known. At first, there was a tiny opening, like a small hole she could see through, but even that slowly disappeared. Eventually, there was nothing left at all.
She says she found herself in what she can only describe as a vast void. There was no sense of direction, no up or down, no edges or limits. Even though it was completely dark, she felt strangely calm and safe. She compares the feeling to floating alone on a still lake, fully supported, weightless, and at peace. There were no sounds, no voices, no fear. Just a deep sense of comfort and stillness.
After some time in this darkness, Heather says she noticed a tiny point of light far away. Slowly, the light grew larger and brighter. As it came closer, it began to look like a tunnel, swirling with different shades of grey and flashes of brighter light. She says she felt herself being pulled upward, as if she was rising through the tunnel toward something beyond.
Then, suddenly, she found herself surrounded by people. She estimates there were around a hundred of them, and the moment was overwhelming. She says she immediately recognised several family members, including her great-grandparents, her aunt, her uncle, and many others she had known in her life.
According to Heather, her great-grandmother spoke to her and calmly told her that she had died. At first, Heather couldn’t accept it and tried to deny what she was hearing. But as she looked around, she became aware of an intense light unlike anything she had ever known. She describes it as pure love, far deeper and more powerful than any love humans experience on Earth.
Heather says she was then given what she describes as a golden orb. Inside it, she was shown scenes of human history filled with suffering and destruction. She says she saw wars, violent conflicts, and pain repeating again and again across different eras. She also claims she was shown visions of the future, which she describes as deeply troubling.
According to Heather, the future included widespread civil wars, hunger, and starvation across many parts of the world. She says the people she saw in these visions looked desperate, angry, and unheard. They were crying out to be noticed, to be valued, and to be treated as equal to everyone else.
She says there were scenes of protests, marches, and intense anger, and that much of what she witnessed felt similar to what is already happening in the world today. To her, the message was clear and urgent.
Heather believes the experience came with a warning for humanity. She says people must let go of hatred, prejudice, and deeply rooted beliefs about other cultures and groups. According to her, survival depends on learning to see each other with compassion and understanding, rather than fear and division. She says that without change, the suffering she saw could become reality for many more people.
