In a short post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said that he and his wife Melania were sad to hear about Biden’s health and sent their best wishes to Joe, his wife Jill, and the rest of the family. He also wished Biden a quick and successful recovery.

This message was unexpected because Trump usually criticizes Biden harshly and has even nicknamed him “Sleepy Joe.” Biden, who is 82 years old, was diagnosed after doctors found a lump in his prostate while he was being checked for urinary problems. Later tests confirmed that the cancer had already spread to his bones, which means it’s a more dangerous and advanced stage. However, the good news is that it’s the type of cancer that can still be treated using hormone therapy. Biden and his doctors are now discussing the best treatment options.

Doctors said that his Gleason score—a number that shows how aggressive prostate cancer is—was nine, which is very high and suggests the cancer is growing quickly. Once this type of cancer spreads to the bones, it becomes harder to treat. A top doctor, Dr. Matthew Smith, said that although it can’t be cured, it can still be managed with medications. Most men in Biden’s situation are not advised to go through surgery or radiation, but they can live for several more years with the right treatment.
