The body of a dog was found dumped on New Hey Road near Outlane in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. A police officer described the scene, saying the dog was “dumped like rubbish.” The officer, PC Newsome, who works with Kirklees Wildlife Crime, believes the dog’s condition shows signs of a life filled with abuse and possibly involvement in dog fighting.
PC Newsome shared distressing details on X (formerly Twitter), saying the dog was emaciated and had fresh injuries, which likely indicate she was used in a dog fighting ring. She urged anyone with information to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting the log number 1126 from February 21, 2025.
Social media users reacted with shock and sadness. One person called the situation “horrific” and referred to the dog as a “poor little girl.
Another said the incident was “heartbreaking” and called for harsher punishments for animal abuse, describing those responsible as “utterly despicable.”
