Man who drank three liters of water everyday for 30 days reveals the impact it had on his body

YouTuber Scott Luu noticed a “big, big, big increase” in one particular body function after taking on a water challenge. 

A man who drank three liters of water daily for 30 days shared how it affected his body. January is often a time for self-improvement, and many people try to pick up healthier habits, like replacing sugary drinks or alcohol with plain water. 

For YouTuber Scott Luu, this curiosity led to an experiment in 2020. He wanted to see if drinking more water over a month would improve his productivity and performance. He decided to triple his usual water intake and document the experience on YouTube. 

As someone who rarely drank much water before, the first noticeable effect was frequent trips to the bathroom. Luu reported a “huge, huge, huge increase in peeing,” going from six trips a day to 12 or 13 during the experiment. 

Despite the inconvenience, he also noticed some benefits. Early in the challenge, he found he no longer felt sluggish in the mornings, even after working late. “Now I drink half a liter of water in the morning, and it’s like instant clarity,” Luu said. He described feeling more energized but admitted some of this could be psychological, as his body adjusted to the increased water intake. 

Another unexpected change was needing fewer naps. “Before the experiment, I’d take a 20-minute nap daily. During the challenge, I only napped six times in 30 days. My energy levels definitely improved,” he shared. 

Interestingly, as the challenge progressed, Luu no longer felt an immediate energy boost from drinking water. He attributed this to his body adapting to the higher fluid intake. 

Luu concluded his experiment by saying water isn’t a “magic solution” for all problems. “If you’re not focused or intentional, more energy just means doing unproductive tasks faster. But if you’re organized, drinking more water can increase clarity, energy, focus, and stamina. It will also make you pee a lot!” 

Since its release in April 2020, Luu’s video has received 201,000 views and hundreds of comments. Viewers praised his insights and shared their own experiences. 

One person wrote, “This is so motivational! I replaced all drinks with water for a year, and it was my best year ever. My bloating reduced, and I felt less tired after meals.” 

Another added, “Drinking over three liters of water daily for two weeks helped control my blood sugar. It made me wonder if dehydration contributes to diabetes symptoms.”
