Actress Climbs Ocean Hill to Perform Yoga Session but Gets Swept Away by Powerful Waves

Kamilla Belyatskaya, a 24-year-old aspiring actress, lost her life in a tragic accident just days before her wedding.

While on holiday with her boyfriend on the island of Koh Samui, Thailand, she decided to perform yoga near the ocean.

On November 29, 2024, Kamilla placed her pink yoga mat on the rocks overlooking the sea and began meditating. Koh Samui was one of her favorite places, which she often described as “the best place on earth.” She even shared her happiness online, expressing how much she loved the spot and how grateful she was to be there.

While meditating, Kamilla was caught off guard by a sudden wave that was estimated to be 5 to 6 meters high. The wave struck with great force, sweeping her off the rocks and into the sea.

Security cameras in the area captured her final moments, showing her struggling in the powerful currents as her yoga mat floated nearby.

A man who witnessed the incident jumped into the water in an attempt to save her. Despite his efforts, the waves were too strong, and he couldn’t reach her.

Bo Phut Police were informed of the situation at 1:30 pm. Rescue teams arrived about 15 minutes later, but the rough sea conditions during Thailand’s monsoon season made it impossible to continue searching for long. After just 30 minutes, the search was called off for safety reasons.

Days later, Kamilla’s body was found around two-thirds of a mile away from the spot where she had been swept into the water.

The incident shocked her family, friends, and the public. Kamilla had been preparing for her wedding and had been filled with joy about her life and future.

Her untimely death left many mourning her loss and reflecting on the dangers of unpredictable natural environments.

The head of the Samui Rescue Center, Chaiyaporn Subprasert, warned tourists about the risks of visiting beaches and rocky areas during monsoon season.

He noted that places like Chaweng and Lamai beaches often display red flags to indicate dangerous conditions.

However, the spot where Kamilla was meditating was a scenic viewpoint rather than a designated swimming area. The unexpected wave surge caught her off guard.

To prevent further tragedies, local authorities have taken steps to improve safety measures.

They have closed access to the rocky area where the incident occurred and continue to remind tourists to be cautious near the ocean during rough weather.
