Donald Trump Set Big Punishments for Countries Leaving the US Dollar

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he plans to introduce 100% tariffs on countries that stop using the US dollar in trade. These tariffs would make it very expensive for those countries to sell goods in the United States, which could hurt their economies.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump specifically called out a group of countries known as the “BRICS.” This group includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, as well as other nations like Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates.

These countries have been working together to create a new currency that could replace the US dollar in international trade. Trump made it clear that he sees this as a serious threat to the US economy and global influence.

He demanded that these countries promise not to create a new currency or support any other type of money that could compete with the US dollar. Trump said, “The days of letting these countries move away from the dollar without consequences are over. They need to commit to sticking with the US dollar or face 100% tariffs. If they don’t, they will lose the ability to sell goods in the US, which is the best market in the world. They’ll have to find another buyer.”

Trump also warned that any country trying to replace the US dollar would lose its relationship with America. He said, “The BRICS countries will never succeed in replacing the US dollar in global trade. If they try, they will be saying goodbye to America and all the benefits that come with working with us.”

In the same post, Trump talked about a recent conversation he had with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. They discussed how to stop the smuggling of illegal drugs across the border, an issue Trump said is harming many American families.

This conversation happened after Trump announced plans to impose tariffs on goods coming from Canada, Mexico, and China as part of his strategy to protect the US economy.

Trump shared, “Prime Minister Trudeau has agreed to work with us to stop the flow of illegal drugs that are destroying US families. We also talked about other important issues like energy, trade, and the Arctic region. These are major topics that I will tackle during my first days back in office, and even before that.”

In summary, Trump is taking a tough stance against countries moving away from the US dollar and is focusing on strengthening the US economy, protecting families, and addressing key issues with global leaders.
