A nine-month-old baby boy was having a picnic with his mother at Hanlon Park in Stones Corner, Brisbane, when a man came over and poured hot coffee on him.

This attack left the baby with serious injuries. The police are calling it a cowardly act. They are now searching internationally for the man who did this.

The suspect fled the scene on August 27, and the police believe he might be from China. His photo and name have been shared by the media in China.

Andrew Massingham, Queensland Police Acting Assistant Commissioner, described the attack as one of the worst and most cowardly he has seen in his career.

He mentioned that the child will have lifelong injuries due to the burns caused by the hot coffee.

After the attack, the baby was taken to the hospital with severe burns on his face, arms, and legs. He has already undergone four surgeries, but the injuries are permanent.

Police have shared CCTV images of the suspect, who is described as a man in his 30s or 40s, with tanned skin and a medium build. He was wearing a black hat, glasses, a shirt, and shorts at the time of the attack.

Hanlon Park is a large green space near Brisbane’s city center. It has a children’s playground and a creek that runs through the park.
