Police in West London have been actively targeting drug dealers.

One dealer, Yassin Okako, was caught with a large zombie knife and is now in prison. He was sentenced to three years and two months at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, November 25, 2024. Okako was charged with possessing crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply and carrying an offensive weapon.

On October 3, 2024, police officers in Hounslow noticed a man acting suspiciously on Inverness Road. When they approached, the man—later identified as Okako—tried to escape but was caught after a short chase. He was found with 61 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin. A search of his car and home uncovered cash and a zombie knife with a serrated blade.

Okako admitted to the charges at his first hearing, which led to a reduced sentence from five years for pleading guilty early.

On social media platform X, a spokesperson for Hounslow MPS said: “Across the West Area Command Unit, officers in Hounslow, Hillingdon, and Ealing are working hard and getting results. Removing this knife has saved lives! #guilty #convicted #CommunityCrimeFighting.”

In another case, two more dealers, Omar Saney and Sijan Malla-Thakuri, were sentenced to a total of six years and six months at Isleworth Crown Court for dealing crack cocaine and heroin.

Police saw them attempting to exchange a package on Rosemary Avenue in Hounslow. Saney tried to throw it away but was caught.

The package contained around 50 wraps of drugs. Malla-Thakuri was found with more drugs, cash, and a steak knife hidden in his sleeve. Both denied the charges but were convicted. Saney received a four-year sentence, and Malla-Thakuri was sentenced to two years and six months.
