Trump Vows to Use 1798 Law for Mass Deportations, Calls for ‘Liberation Day’ if Elected

Former President Donald Trump recently spoke at a rally in New York City, where he addressed thousands of supporters in Madison Square Garden.

He shared his plan to deal with illegal immigration and gang activity if he wins the upcoming election. Trump directed his message to Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, telling him to prepare to use an old law from 1798, called the Alien Enemies Act, to help carry out mass deportations.

This law, created more than 200 years ago, allows the president to arrest, relocate, or deport any male over the age of 14 who comes from a foreign country that is considered an enemy.

Historically, it has only been used three times in the United States, all during wartime. Trump explained that this law would help him quickly remove gang members and other criminals from the country.

Trump promised that if he becomes president, he would start what he called the “biggest deportation program in American history” on his first day in office. He described November 5, 2024, as “Liberation Day,” saying it would mark the beginning of his efforts to make America safe again. He stated that he would remove dangerous criminals from American cities and towns, putting them in jail first and then deporting them as soon as possible.

He specifically mentioned that gangs like Tren de Aragua and MS-13, known for their violent activities, would be targeted under this plan.

Trump emphasized that, in his view, the current state of the U.S. border has led to major problems within the country. He warned Speaker Johnson to be prepared for the challenge, saying that addressing the criminal networks operating on American soil would be a top priority. According to Trump, issues at the border are the biggest threat to America’s safety and future.

Trump’s speech underscored his belief that taking strong action at the border and removing criminals would restore law and order to the United States.
