Trump CRUSHES ABC News and George Stephanopoulos to Win Defamation Suit – ABC and Disgraced Host Must Pay Trump Whopping $15 MILLION for Stephanopoulos’ Statements on E. Jean Carroll
President Trump got an early Christmas gift on Saturday.
According to The Gateway Pundit, Trump was originally scheduled to be questioned just before Christmas in his defamation lawsuit against ABC News.
Earlier this year, Trump filed the lawsuit after ABC’s George Stephanopoulos falsely claimed that a Manhattan jury found Trump “liable for rape” in the E. Jean Carroll case. In reality, the jury held Trump responsible for defaming Carroll, not for rape.
Stephanopoulos made the false statement during an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), who is herself a survivor of sexual assault. His comments not only defamed Trump but also offended Mace in the process.
Back in 2019, E. Jean Carroll accused Trump of assaulting her in a dressing room in the 1990s, an allegation Trump has denied, saying he has never met her.
Now, ABC News and Stephanopoulos have agreed to a settlement, requiring them to pay Trump $15 million. The money will be donated to a presidential foundation and museum being set up by Trump. They will also pay $1 million to cover Trump’s legal fees.
In addition to the financial settlement, ABC News and Stephanopoulos will issue a public statement of regret. This statement will appear as a note on an article published in March 2024, which contained the false claims that led to Trump’s lawsuit. The statement acknowledges the error and expresses regret for the comments made.
