Prince William and Kate Middleton’s U.S. Plan Causes More Problems for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince William and Kate Middleton are planning to visit the U.S., but it seems Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who live in California, aren’t happy about it. Meghan reportedly feels like it’s “another setback” for them.

Meghan doesn’t want William and Kate stepping into her and Harry’s “territory” in the U.S. If the Prince and Princess of Wales come to expand their charity work in the U.S., it likely won’t be a friendly family reunion. According to a report from OK! Magazine, Meghan, 43, doesn’t want her brother-in-law and sister-in-law doing the same kind of charity work that she and Harry are already doing.

An insider shared that Meghan was surprised when she heard that William and Kate plan to do more work in the U.S., especially after they trademarked their foundation’s brand. William and Kate filed for a U.S. trademark in May 2023, but they haven’t announced anything new yet.

The insider added that although William and Kate have visited the U.S. a couple of times, Meghan feels like this is her and Harry’s space. She’s worried they might be moving in on their territory.

In May 2023, William and Kate took steps to expand their charitable organization, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, in the U.S. They filed an application to trademark their foundation with plans to organize fundraising events, educational activities, and offer mental health services. Their application came after they visited Boston for the 2022 Earthshot Prize Awards.

Meghan and Harry have also focused on mental health through their own charity work, most recently launching The Archwell Foundation Parents’ Network.

The insider added that Meghan feels upset because Harry is building a life for himself in the U.S. and doing big events without her, like one he recently did in New York. She also knows how popular William and Kate are in the U.S., and with her and Harry’s popularity in Hollywood fading, she’s not comfortable with them visiting right now since it will likely draw a lot of attention.

Previously, a royal commentator said William and Kate’s activities could be seen as a “threat” to Harry and Meghan.

William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan haven’t been seen together much since 2022. The last time they were seen publicly together was in September 2022 after Queen Elizabeth II’s death, when they attended several events, including her funeral. Before that, they were seen together during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, which was their first appearance together since Commonwealth Day in 2020.
