Prince Harry is currently in the UK for the WellChild awards in London. However, it seems that a meeting with his father, King Charles, won’t be happening after Camilla, the Queen, reportedly advised against it.
Prince Harry has been a patron of the WellChild charity for 15 years, and while there were hopes that his visit could lead to a conversation with his father to mend their relationship, King Charles remains in Scotland at Balmoral.
According to sources, there are concerns that such a meeting could harm the King’s health, especially after his cancer treatment earlier this year.
Camilla is reportedly worried that the stress from a meeting with Harry could interfere with Charles’ recovery. Additionally, a new TV show may portray Camilla in a negative light, describing her as a “wicked stepmother.” This follows Harry’s criticism of her in his memoir “Spare.”
There are also concerns about how Prince William would react to a meeting, as he was hurt by Harry’s past revelations about the family. Another issue is the potential for a constitutional problem if Harry were to discuss his personal security while in the UK.
A source close to the Queen mentioned that Camilla has been strongly advising the King to avoid any stress and to take it easy during his recovery. Despite this, insiders say King Charles still hopes to reconcile with Harry and William because he loves both his sons and wants to heal the family divide.
The last time Charles and Harry briefly saw each other was in February, following the King’s cancer diagnosis, with Camilla also present.
