Prince Harry has shared a video message from his home in Montecito, encouraging people in the UK to nominate deserving individuals for the 20th WellChild Awards in 2025. Harry, who is 40 and has been a supporter of the charity since 2007, stressed how important it is to recognize seriously ill children and their caregivers in the UK.

The WellChild Awards, supported by GSK, honor children with complex health conditions and the people who care for them. In his message, Harry said it’s a “true honor” to celebrate the courage and kindness of these children and their families. He asked the public to help find extraordinary individuals for the awards, which highlight young people across the UK with serious medical needs.

Harry explained that the awards celebrate not only the children but also those who go above and beyond to support them. He said the awards help share inspiring stories of strength and resilience. “Your support can make a big difference,” he added, urging people to join in recognizing the amazing individuals who will be honored at the 2025 WellChild Awards.

Matt James, the CEO of WellChild, talked about the importance of reaching the 20th anniversary of the awards. He said this milestone shows over 20 years of celebrating the incredible strength of children and young people in the UK. James also pointed out that more families are facing challenges, and the 2025 awards will help raise awareness of these difficulties.

The awards also honor the hard work of caregivers, including siblings, parents, and healthcare professionals who help these children thrive.

Last year, Prince Harry traveled from California to attend the WellChild Awards in London. The 2024 event included many famous guests, such as Sir Rod Stewart, Penny Lancaster, KSI, and Oti Mabuse. Presenters like Kate Garraway, Pixie Lott, Beverly Knight, and Gaby Roslin were also there. During the ceremony, Harry gave a heartfelt speech, calling the winners “little legends.”

Harry’s ongoing support for WellChild, which began in 2007, shows his dedication to helping seriously ill children and young people in the UK.
