Melania Trump threatens Hunter Biden with $1 billion lawsuit over Epstein claims

0views

Melania Trump’s lawyers say that statements Hunter Biden made about her are completely untrue and damaging to her reputation. She is threatening to sue him for \$1 billion unless he takes back what he said and apologizes.

The dispute started after Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, claimed in an interview that Melania was introduced to Donald Trump by Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy man later convicted of sex crimes against underage girls. Biden suggested that documents related to Epstein would also implicate Donald Trump.

Melania’s legal team sent Biden a formal letter calling his remarks false and harmful, demanding that he publicly retract them. They pointed out that Biden’s comments seemed to come from journalist Michael Wolff, who once claimed Melania was connected to someone in Epstein’s circle when she met Trump. That story was later deleted from The Daily Beast after Melania’s lawyers complained. The publication even posted a correction and apology, saying they had removed the article after reviewing it.

There is no confirmed evidence that Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. Melania has said she met Donald Trump at a modeling agency party in 1998, when she was about 28 years old and he was 52.

Melania’s lawyer, Alejandro Brito, referred reporters to a statement from her aide, Nick Clemens, who said her attorneys are working to make sure that people who spread these false claims retract them immediately and apologize.

Jeffrey Epstein was known for having ties to wealthy and influential people before being exposed for running a sex-trafficking operation involving underage girls. He served jail time after a controversial 2008 plea deal and was later arrested in 2019 on new charges. He was found dead in his jail cell shortly afterward, in what was officially ruled a suicide.

For years, rumors have circulated about a supposed “client list” of powerful people connected to Epstein’s crimes, though the FBI has denied that any such list exists. Donald Trump once associated with Epstein but later distanced himself, saying their friendship ended after Epstein tried to hire Trump’s staff away from him.

Trump, during his 2024 campaign, promised to make court documents related to the Epstein case public but has since backed away from that pledge.

Hunter Biden’s lawyer has not yet commented on Melania Trump’s legal threat.
