Lady Who Went Missing for Days After Boarding a Taxi, and Her Phone Going Off Immediately, Found Dead
The family of 24-year-old Lacey Lake, who was reported missing on Monday, January 6, has been informed about recent developments.
Police have confirmed that a body has been found during the search for Lacey, who disappeared after getting into a taxi over the weekend. Her phone was “suddenly turned off” sometime after she entered the vehicle.
Lacey got into a grey Mercedes around 6 p.m. on Friday and was last seen in the Stonehouse area of Plymouth, Devon. She was reported missing on Monday. On Tuesday, police found a body in north Plymouth.
Formal identification is still pending, but police said the death is being treated as “unexplained” and is not believed to be suspicious.
Devon and Cornwall Police released a statement: “Police searching for a missing woman from Plymouth have today, January 7, found the body of a female. Officers were called at about 1:20 p.m. after concerns for the welfare of a woman in Linton Close, Tamerton Foliot.
“Paramedics attended, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as unexplained but is not currently believed to be suspicious. The family of 24-year-old Lacey Lake, who was reported missing on Monday, January 6, has been informed. Formal identification has not yet been completed.”
Before the discovery, family and friends had shared concerns on social media. A Facebook post from Morgan Hennessy Kelly urged anyone with information about Lacey to come forward. Concerns were heightened because Lacey was a Type 1 diabetic and had no insulin with her when she went missing. It was also noted that her phone’s location services had been turned off after her disappearance.
