King Charles set to treat Queen Camilla after heartbreak

21views

King Charles is planning to bring a new furry friend into Queen Camilla’s life after the heartbreaking loss of her beloved Jack Russell terrier, Beth, in November. Beth, who was adopted from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in 2011, had to be put down after developing an untreatable tumour.

She was a cherished companion to Camilla, often seen by her side during walks, official duties, or simply curled up by the fire. Beth’s passing left a void in the royal household, especially since she had been such a loyal and joyful presence.

Beth wasn’t just a pet—she was a part of the family. She even had a special place on Queen Camilla’s coronation gown, where she and another Jack Russell, Bluebell, were immortalised in gold embroidery.

Beth also made public appearances, including a memorable visit to Battersea’s Brands Hatch Centre in Kent in 2022, where she participated in a loyalty duel with Paul O’Grady’s dog, Sausage, during filming for For The Love Of Dogs.

Now, King Charles and Queen Camilla are considering adopting another dog from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, a charity close to their hearts.

Camilla has been a patron of the charity for years, and the couple’s connection to rescue dogs runs deep. The late Queen Elizabeth II was also a well-known dog lover, famously keeping Corgis at Buckingham Palace throughout her reign.

The news of their plans to adopt a new dog came to light after Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden met King Charles at the Royal Variety Show in December. Holden shared that the King mentioned he and Camilla would likely get another dog this year. She also noted that Charles has a fun and humorous side, adding, “He talked about what he loved about the show. I think he’s got a great sense of humour.”

For Camilla, adopting a new dog will not only bring joy back into her life but also continue her support for animal welfare. The royal family’s love for dogs has always been evident, and this new addition will undoubtedly carry on that tradition. While Beth can never be replaced, a new rescue dog could help heal the loss and bring fresh energy to the royal household.
