Keir Starmer Torn Apart with Just Four Words Over Trump Deal Disaster on GB News!

39views

Labour leader Keir Starmer was heavily criticised this morning on GB News. The topic was about Brexit and trade, and many felt that the UK had missed out on a big opportunity. Just a few hours earlier, people were celebrating the idea that the UK had better trade terms than the European Union. But then everything changed when former US President Donald Trump announced a new rule. He said all countries, except China, would now have to pay the same 10% tariff. This meant that the UK’s special deal didn’t really mean anything anymore.

Political commentator Theo Usherwood sounded disappointed. He said the UK had actually been in a stronger position than the EU when it came to trade, but now that’s gone because of Trump’s new policy. Usherwood mentioned how there had been a lot of effort put into keeping a good relationship with Trump. Even the King had invited Trump for a second state visit. But according to him, all that effort didn’t seem to make a difference.

GB News host Stephen Dixon tried to stay hopeful. He said maybe the UK could still work out a good trade deal. But Usherwood shut that idea down, saying it looked very unlikely at this point.

Starmer was also blamed for not doing enough to maintain a strong relationship between the UK and the US. Some people believe that if that relationship had been better, the UK might have gotten a more favourable trade deal. Usherwood said Starmer has been under pressure from people in Britain who don’t like Trump. Because of that, Starmer has made it clear he’s not going to make a deal just to make things look good. He wants a deal that is fair and in the UK’s best interest.

Ellie Costello, another presenter on GB News, asked what kind of offer the UK would have to make to get Trump to treat them better than the EU. Usherwood replied that the UK might have to allow American food and farming products to be sold here. That would mean relaxing some of the current restrictions.

But this idea raises new concerns. Some people worry that US food might contain chemicals that are banned in the EU. Since Brexit, the UK doesn’t have to follow EU rules anymore, so there’s a chance those chemicals might be allowed here. That could lead to food safety issues, and many people aren’t comfortable with that.

Viewers of GB News weren’t shy about sharing their opinions. Many took to social media to express frustration with Starmer. Some said he had ruined the chance for a good trade deal and that he wasn’t doing enough to protect the UK’s interests. One person even posted a cartoon of Trump pushing Starmer in a wheelie bin, with the caption saying Trump doesn’t take him seriously. Another person commented that the EU now has the advantage and that maybe this is happening because Labour has close ties with the Democratic Party in the US. They suggested Trump might remember that and hold it against the UK.

Overall, there’s a growing feeling among some people that the UK could have had something really good after Brexit, but poor political choices and weak international relationships are making that dream slip away.
