Keir Starmer is about to give away what remains of our sovereignty in the name of net zero – Alex Story

Rachel Reeves keeps telling everyone the world has changed. Her big plan? Grow the economy by taxing workers more and making the government even bigger something Keir Starmer fully backs. Meanwhile, Angela Rayner when she’s not out at some fancy club is pushing her so-called “pro-business, pro-worker” employment laws.
But all this will really do is make hiring workers more expensive while giving unions more power. No surprise, Britain’s stability could soon look more like North Korea’s.
And Starmer? He’s happy to hand over whatever’s left of our independence, all in the name of “net zero.”
Right now, only about 28 million people in the UK are actually working and paying taxes. But they’re carrying the weight of millions more. Ten million people are on benefits, and a shocking one in four working-age adults is now classified as disabled—way more than in Ukraine (which is at war) or even Somalia. With so few supporting so many, the whole system is on the verge of collapse.
Since the government isn’t fixing the real problems, their only idea is mass immigration hoping more people will magically boost the economy. But in a country already struggling, that just means more strain on housing, schools, and hospitals. A lot of these newcomers come from very different cultures, bringing their own traditions—like Ramadan, where people fast all day and feast all night (though studies show it also leads to more constipation).
But the bigger issue? The more people who depend on the state, the harder it gets for the people actually paying for it all.
And yet, our leaders keep giving away what’s ours. The Chagos Islands? We bought them fair and square back in 1965 now Starmer wants to just hand them back. Our fishing waters? France and the EU say we have to give up control if we want to help Ukraine. And on top of that, Starmer’s ready to let foreign courts decide our climate policies, even though Britain’s already cutting emissions faster than the EU.
Reeves says “times have changed,” but some things never do. If you don’t value your country’s independence, someone else will take it. If you keep punishing workers to reward those who don’t work, the whole thing will fall apart. And if you give away what isn’t yours, you’re no better than a thief.
This isn’t progress it’s national suicide. And for the so-called “progressives” in charge, that’s a lesson they’ll learn the hard way.
