Keir Starmer Blasted for £102k Flight Bill After Slamming Sunak Voters Call Out Shocking Hypocrisy

0views

Prime Minister Keir Starmer is facing criticism after it was revealed he spent £102,000 on domestic flights since becoming Prime Minister last July. This is almost three times more than what Rishi Sunak spent during a similar period when he was in office.

People are calling Starmer a hypocrite because, when he was in opposition, he had strongly criticised Sunak for using private jets. At the time, Labour promised they would introduce strict rules to limit the use of such flights to save taxpayer money. For example, when Sunak flew from Northolt to Blackpool in early 2023, Labour attacked him and said his actions went against efforts to protect the environment.

But now that Starmer is in charge, he’s being called out for doing the same thing he once condemned. In February, he took a short 41-minute flight to Cornwall, a similar trip to the one Sunak had been criticised for. Back in 2023, Labour’s then Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves had promised at the party conference that Labour would crack down on private jet use among ministers. She even directly accused Sunak of having a habit of using them too often.

Now, members of the Conservative Party are accusing Starmer of saying one thing and doing another. Shadow Cabinet Office Minister Mike Wood said Labour was quick to judge others when they were in opposition, but now that they’re in power, they’re behaving in the same way. He accused Starmer of double standards and playing politics just to win points.

Starmer is also being criticised by Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch over his immigration policies. She posted old clips of him praising the benefits of immigration, contrasting them with his current political stance, and asked people: “Can you trust this man?”

Altogether, these issues are raising questions about whether Starmer is truly sticking to the principles he once stood for or just saying whatever is convenient at the time.
