Jeremy Kyle has revealed the terrifying moment he thought he was dying after receiving his cancer diagnosis in 2012. The former TV host, now 59, described collapsing when doctors told him one of his testicles was “95% toxic” and needed immediate removal.
“I remember waking up to this amazing nurse who stayed with me all night and held my hand,” he told Kate Garraway on Life Stories. “I was terrified. I thought if she walked out and the light went off, that was it—I was dead.”
Kyle admitted he had ignored early warning signs, putting off a doctor’s visit despite feeling something was wrong. After surgery and chemotherapy, he was given the all-clear, but the experience left him deeply shaken.
Now a father of six—including a newborn with his wife, Victoria Burton—Kyle joked about his unexpected late-life parenting: “I’m catching up to BoJo! Vic says I need to bottle whatever’s left because, at 58 with one testicle, it’s a miracle.”
His candid interview highlighted both the trauma of his diagnosis and the gratitude he feels for surviving. “I’m lucky to be here,” he said—a sentiment underscored by his growing family and renewed perspective on life.
