JD Vance Makes Shocking Claim About Who Is to Blame for America’s $40 Trillion Debt — People Are Furious (Video)

Blaming Biden for everything that happens under President Donald Trump is starting to frustrate many Americans, with some social media users saying they are tired of hearing the same explanation from the administration.
The latest criticism came after Vice President JD Vance blamed the Biden administration for the country’s record-high national debt during an appearance on Newsmax. Vance acknowledged that the debt is far too high but argued that the Trump administration inherited what he described as a “debt bomb” from Biden.
Vance said the administration has a plan to make the US economy grow faster than the national debt. He also argued that one of the major problems created during the Biden years was that the national debt was increasing faster than the country’s overall economic growth.
However, his comments quickly attracted criticism online. Some social media users questioned why the Trump administration continues to focus so heavily on Biden when Trump is now responsible for the direction of the government and the economy.
The criticism comes as the US national debt has reached an enormous $40 trillion. The debt has increased under several presidents from both political parties, meaning the issue cannot simply be blamed on one administration.
According to figures reported by Reuters, the US debt increased by about $8.4 trillion during Biden’s four years in office. It has also continued to rise during Trump’s presidency, with the debt increasing by about $11.6 trillion across Trump’s two terms so far.

Vance also hinted that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has a detailed plan to deal with the problem. He said the administration believes it is on track to make the US economy grow faster than the debt.
But critics were not convinced. They pointed to spending under the current administration and argued that Trump and his officials should also accept responsibility for the debt being added while they are in power.
One social media user summed up the frustration by saying that blaming Biden for everything Trump does is becoming “really tired.”
The debate highlights a much bigger problem facing the United States. The national debt has been building for years, through different presidents and both Republican and Democratic administrations. While politicians continue to argue about who is most responsible, the debt keeps rising.
JD Vance, why do you all constantly lie to the American people?
Trump has added $11.6 trillion to the debt across his two terms combined, $7.8 trillion in his first term after inheriting a great growing economy from Obama, another $3.8 trillion so far in his second with nothing…— Human☮🇺🇸🇺🇦🇺🇸🌊 (@4HumanUnity) August 20, 2026
For many Americans, the bigger question is no longer simply who caused the problem. They want to know what the government is actually going to do to slow down the debt, control spending and protect the country’s economy in the years ahead.
