Bradley Walsh, the host of *The Chase*, was really surprised when he found out what one of the contestants did for a living. He even joked that the show might be over for the contestant before it even started.
During the episode, Bradley met four new contestants: Sally, Rumun, Sharron, and Taven, who were all ready to take on the quiz challenge. After Taven and Sharron were eliminated, it was Rumun’s turn to face Shaun Wallace, also known as The Dark Destroyer.
When Rumun, a 23-year-old from Manchester, revealed that he was a tax advisor, Bradley was so shocked that he almost said Rumun was out of the game. He joked, “And for you, The Chase is over.” But then he quickly corrected himself and said, “Right, you’re back in the game.”
Bradley also teased Rumun about supporting the Derby County football team, which led to some funny moments. Even Shaun Wallace joined in, joking, “Well, you’re a tax advisor and a County fan, so you must be used to dealing with losses.” Rumun laughed and replied, “Good one,” before continuing the game.
Unfortunately, Rumun didn’t make it through, leaving Sally to face Shaun alone. She chose a smaller cash offer of £4,000 instead of risking £100,000, but she couldn’t beat Shaun, who caught up to her score with a minute to spare.
Some viewers were disappointed because they thought they were watching a new episode, but it turned out to be a repeat. Many fans took to social media to complain, saying things like, “I thought I’d seen this before?” and “This episode was on just a week ago!”
This wasn’t the first time fans felt let down. The night before, they had also expected a new episode but ended up watching a rerun. Many were frustrated with ITV for labeling the episode as “new” when it wasn’t. One viewer said, “Get your act together, ITV,” while another called the situation “garbage.”
Overall, while the episode was entertaining, the confusion over whether it was new or a repeat left some fans unhappy.
