‘Insulting’ amount Trump will pay immigrants to ‘self-deport’ on ‘beautiful flights’

Former President Donald Trump has introduced a new immigration plan aimed at reducing the number of undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Under this new plan, immigrants who are in the country without legal permission can choose to leave on their own  and if they do, the U.S. government will give them money and a free flight back home.

Trump explained the idea by saying, “We’re going to give them a stipend — that means a small amount of money  and a plane ticket. If they’re good people and we want them back, we’ll work with them to come back in legally.”

At first, the government didn’t say exactly how much money immigrants would be paid to leave. But now, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has revealed that those who use the government’s “CBP Home App” to organize their departure will receive $1,000 after they arrive in their home country.

The DHS described the program as a “dignified” way for people to leave the country, meaning it allows them to go back home without being arrested or detained by immigration officers. This could make the process less stressful for both the immigrants and the government.

The program is also seen as a cheaper alternative to regular deportations. According to the DHS, it normally costs over $17,000 to arrest, detain, and deport someone from the U.S. In comparison, giving someone $1,000 and buying a plane ticket is far less expensive.

As part of the program, the government has already paid for at least one person’s ticket from Chicago back to Honduras. More flights are scheduled for the following weeks.

President Trump also spoke more about the plan from the Oval Office. He told reporters, “We’re going to give each one a certain amount of money and send them on a beautiful flight back to where they came from. If they follow the rules and prove themselves to be good, we might let them come back into the country legally someday.”

However, not everyone is happy about the $1,000 offer. Some people have gone online to say they think it’s disrespectful. One person posted on social media: “This is insulting. People didn’t go through all that trouble to come to America just for a thousand dollars.” Another person pointed out that the UK offers much more money  up to £3,000  for similar programs.

Critics also feel the plan doesn’t address the real reasons why people come to the U.S. in the first place, such as escaping poverty, violence, or political instability. They argue that offering a small amount of money doesn’t solve the larger issue of immigration and human rights.

Still, the Trump administration believes this program will encourage many undocumented immigrants to leave voluntarily, and that it’s a cheaper and more respectful way to reduce illegal immigration without relying on arrests and deportations.

In short, Trump’s message is clear: if immigrants agree to leave the U.S. peacefully, they’ll get $1,000 and a free ride home — and if they’re considered “good people,” they might have a chance to return legally in the future.
