Illegal migrants should be placed in tents, not luxurious hotels that are costing taxpayers billions

Dame Andrea Jenkins, the new Reform UK Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, gave a powerful speech after winning the election. She spoke about the issue of illegal immigration and shared her strong views on how it should be handled.

Jenkins said that putting illegal immigrants in hotels is costing British taxpayers billions of pounds, and she doesn’t think that’s fair. Instead, she suggested using tents to house them, saying that if tents are good enough for France, they should be good enough for Britain too.

She made it clear that she wants to put an end to what she called “soft touch Britain,” meaning she believes the country has been too relaxed and kind in dealing with people who come into the country illegally.

According to Jenkins, now that Reform UK is gaining political power, they will begin what she described as a “fightback” to save the heart and soul of the country. She believes the UK needs to return to its former strength and values, and that Reform UK will help lead that change one step at a time.

Jenkins said her party has already been working on policies to address illegal immigration and plans to take action soon. She repeated her belief that hotels are not the right place for people who enter the country without permission. Instead, she sees tents as a more suitable and cost-effective option.

When a BBC reporter asked her about these views, Jenkins stood by her words. She said she believes many people across the country quietly agree with her but may not say it out loud. She called them “the silent majority” and said they are tired of seeing illegal migrants given what she sees as special treatment.

In her view, anyone who comes to the UK illegally should not expect comfort or luxury. She believes that using tents sends a clear message that the UK is serious about controlling its borders and discouraging people from coming into the country without following the proper legal process.
