Thousands of people gathered in Dover over the weekend to protest against illegal immigration, with many saying they’ve simply had enough. The event, titled “Stop the boats now! 10,000+ bikers and friends illegal migrant protest ride to Dover” on Facebook, brought together activists who feel the government is not doing enough to deal with the migrant situation.
Paul King, chairman of Reform Party’s Dover and Deal branch, spoke to GB News at the protest. He said the country had already passed the point where people could tolerate illegal migration, and that the public’s patience has run out. He stressed that ordinary people who work hard and pay their taxes feel completely ignored, while illegal migrants receive benefits and support. “It’s simple — it’s illegal,” he said.
The protest was organized by Kent Motor Heads Events, a group that made it clear the event was meant to be peaceful. They insisted it was not about racism or right-wing politics, but about frustration with the government’s failure to act. They urged participants to avoid reacting to any counter-protesters who might try to provoke them.
King also pointed out that while he was attending in his individual capacity, many members of his party were there too because they felt very strongly about the issue. He described the protest as apolitical, meaning it wasn’t officially connected to any political party’s agenda. According to him, the protest was just about “normal folk who have had enough.”
As expected, there was a strong police presence in Dover to keep an eye on both the anti-immigration protesters and the pro-migrant groups who had organized counter-protests. Authorities were prepared for any tension that might arise as both sides made their voices heard.
The mood among the protesters reflected a deep feeling of anger and frustration — a sense that despite doing everything right, many British citizens feel like they’re getting left behind while newcomers arriving illegally seem to be prioritized.
