Donald Trump issues chilling 8-word warning to Putin after failed Ukraine ceasefire

During a press briefing in the Oval Office, President Donald Trump was questioned about his ability to pressure Russia into accepting a ceasefire in Ukraine.

Trump responded by expressing hope that such measures would not be necessary, stating, “Yeah. We can. But I hope it’s not gonna be necessary.

He then referenced past Russian actions under previous U.S. administrations, claiming that Russia took Georgia during George W. Bush’s presidency, Crimea under Barack Obama, and attempted to take more under Joe Biden, but emphasized that Russia “never took anything from Trump.”

Trump has frequently touted his good relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin and has promoted progress in initial negotiations with the Kremlin to end the war in Ukraine.

However, if Putin refuses to agree to a ceasefire, Trump may face increasing pressure to adopt a tougher stance against Russia.

Meanwhile, concerns about Russia’s broader ambitions have been raised by former NATO officials. Sir Richard Shirreff, a former deputy supreme allied commander in Europe, warned that if Russia succeeds in Ukraine, it could install puppet regimes in Georgia, Moldova, and Romania, potentially targeting the Baltic states next. This could escalate into a direct conflict involving European nations, including the UK.

Sir Richard also criticized Trump’s approach to NATO, accusing him of dealing a “mortal blow” to the alliance by withdrawing intelligence and military aid from Ukraine. He highlighted the financial burden other NATO members would face if the U.S. were to reduce its contributions, noting that the U.S. currently provides 16% of NATO’s budget and spends more on defense than all other member nations combined.

As the situation in Ukraine remains tense, the international community is closely watching Trump’s next moves and whether he can effectively leverage his relationship with Putin to achieve a lasting peace.
