Donald Trump Exploded in Fury and Boasted What He Alone Can Do, A Brutal Insult to UK Peace Efforts

Ukraine and Russia recently agreed to exchange prisoners of war as part of a ceasefire plan. However, the overall peace negotiations between both sides have not made much progress. Former U.S. President Donald Trump, while speaking to reporters on Air Force One, appeared visibly upset and impatient about the slow pace of these talks. According to a body language expert named Darren Stanton, Trump was talking faster than usual, which shows he was feeling angry and frustrated. He also made facial expressions—like furrowing and raising his eyebrows—that pointed to irritation.
Trump repeated several times that he believes nothing will move forward unless he personally meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He seemed to suggest that only he has the power to bring peace between Russia and Ukraine. Trump had just finished a tour of Gulf countries and used the opportunity to call for direct talks with Putin, insisting it’s the only way to end the war.
Earlier talks in Istanbul between Ukraine and Russia lasted less than two hours. Both sides agreed to release 1,000 prisoners of war each. But Ukraine said that Russia’s conditions were unreasonable, including asking Ukraine to pull out of parts of its own land, which they completely rejected.
European leaders have also responded. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer called Russia’s demands totally unacceptable. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU is preparing more sanctions against Russia. Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed Trump’s view, saying the only way to truly stop the war is through direct negotiations between Trump and Putin.
French President Emmanuel Macron said he spoke to Trump while attending a meeting with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders in Albania. Macron shared that Putin continues to ignore peace offers, making it clear that Russia isn’t genuinely interested in ending the war right now.
Zelensky has also said that if Russia keeps rejecting the ceasefire proposals, then strong new sanctions must be enforced. The Kremlin confirmed that a meeting between Trump and Putin could be important for progress. Their spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said such a summit must be carefully planned and should aim for real results. He also mentioned that the meeting could help improve relations between the U.S. and Russia, while addressing the bigger issue of the Ukraine war.
