Donald Trump DISMISSES Britain’s contribution to WW2 as he renames VE Day on eve of 80th anniversary – ‘Americans were the bravest’

Former President Donald Trump has downplayed the role Britain played in helping to end World War Two, saying that the U.S. deserves more recognition.

He announced that he plans to rename VE Day (Victory in Europe Day), which is celebrated on May 8, to something that better reflects America’s achievements.

According to Trump, the new name will be “Victory Day for World War Two.” He made this announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social. In his message, he claimed that the U.S. won both world wars and that no other country came close to matching America’s strength, courage, or military skill.

He said it’s a shame that these accomplishments aren’t properly celebrated and blamed it on a lack of strong leadership.

Trump went further by stating that the U.S. will also stop calling November 11 “Armistice Day,” the day that marks the end of World War One. Instead, he said it will be renamed “Victory Day for World War One.”

This announcement comes just as people in many countries are preparing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day on May 8, 1945—the day Nazi Germany surrendered to Allied forces, which included Britain, the U.S., and others.
