CHAOS IN PARLIAMENT: David Lammy Goes BERSERK as Labour MPs SHOUT DOWN Priti Patel in Explosive Gaza Debate (Video)

There was complete chaos in the House of Commons today as a serious argument broke out between Labour MP David Lammy and former Home Secretary Priti Patel. The argument happened during a tense discussion about the suffering in Gaza and what the UK government should do to help.

Priti Patel stood up to speak and said the main focus of everyone in Parliament should be getting aid into Gaza, where many innocent people are dying and struggling to survive. She said too many people were using the situation for political points instead of working together to help. Patel also defended her own past actions, saying she had always supported sending aid to Gaza and other areas going through crises.

But her comments quickly caused anger, especially when she mentioned that even Hamas — a group she banned as a terrorist organisation when she was Home Secretary — had put out a statement that seemed to agree with the UK government’s actions. This made some MPs furious. Many began shaking their heads, and some started shouting over her speech.

David Lammy, clearly upset, stood up and strongly criticised Patel. He said it was wrong to bring up what Hamas said and use it to defend the government’s actions. Lammy said the real issue is that the UK government is not doing enough to speak out against what the Israeli government — led by Prime Minister Netanyahu — is doing in Gaza. He said many people on his side of Parliament agree that the situation is “morally wrong, unjustifiable, and must stop.”

As Lammy spoke, other Labour MPs loudly supported him, shouting at Patel and accusing the government of turning a blind eye to the suffering of Palestinian civilians. The noise in the chamber grew so loud that Patel could hardly speak without being interrupted.

Lammy continued, saying he was disappointed that Patel and others couldn’t bring themselves to clearly condemn the Israeli government’s actions. He pointed out that 27 other countries had already joined the UK in calling for an end to the violence and in standing for truth and justice. He said it was a shame that Patel didn’t do the same.

The dramatic scenes have been widely shared online, with many people reacting strongly. Some praised David Lammy for being brave and standing up for innocent lives, while others felt Priti Patel was trying to make an important point and was unfairly shouted down.

The debate has made one thing very clear: there is deep disagreement in Parliament about how to respond to the crisis in Gaza, and emotions are running high as the suffering continues.
