A man from Utah is accused of killing his son after an argument on Christmas Eve. The argument began when the father, Harold Luster, 61, accused his son and his son’s fiancée of hiding information about his wife’s alleged affair. Luster believed that his wife was cheating on him and thought that his son and his fiancée knew about it but were not telling him the truth.

Harold Luster has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office shared this information in a news release on Facebook. Luster is currently in police custody and is being held without bond. He appeared in court on Thursday, December 26, and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The tragic incident happened on Tuesday, December 24, around 8:55 p.m. local time. Kevin Ward, Luster’s 26-year-old son, was visiting for the holidays with his fiancée. The argument began when Luster got into a fight with his son’s fiancée. He was upset because he believed his wife was having an affair, and he thought that his son and his fiancée knew about it but had not told him anything.

During the argument, Luster allegedly asked his son’s fiancée, “Do you want to get shot?” At this point, Kevin Ward tried to calm the situation. He told his fiancée to get a knife and told her to call 911 if anything went wrong between him and his father.

As Ward’s fiancée started to leave the room, she heard Ward trying to calm his father down. Ward said, “You’re not going to shoot her,” trying to stop his father. But Luster allegedly responded, “You want to get shot instead?”

The argument escalated, and Luster allegedly shot his son in the forehead with a single bullet. Kevin Ward fell to the floor and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and the authorities are trying to gather more information. It is not yet clear if Harold Luster has hired a lawyer to represent him or if anyone is speaking on his behalf.
