Donald Trump Impeachment Proceedings Launched

12views

Democratic Representative Shri Thanedar has officially started a process to impeach President Donald Trump again. He stood up in the House of Representatives on Tuesday and presented seven articles of impeachment.

This step makes it mandatory for House Republican leaders to respond within two days. However, they are likely to try and shut it down quickly by voting to ignore it.

Thanedar’s impeachment articles accuse Trump of serious actions like bribery, corruption, breaking the law, and even ignoring a unanimous Supreme Court ruling. He said Trump has been committing crimes from the very first day of his presidency.

Thanedar also claimed that Trump is currently traveling to the Middle East to accept a gift worth $400 million from a foreign government, which would be a huge breach of ethics.

Despite these serious claims, not many Democrats are supporting Thanedar’s move. Many in his party feel this attempt is more about boosting his own popularity, especially since he’s facing challenges in his home district in Michigan. Some believe this isn’t the right time to push for impeachment, especially with Republicans firmly in control of both the House and Senate.

Still, Thanedar says he’s doing this out of duty, regardless of whether the timing is right or if there are enough votes. He says it’s about protecting the Constitution and holding leaders accountable.

Trump responded angrily on his social media platform, Truth Social. He called the Democrats “crazy” and said they’re obsessed with trying to impeach him over and over, even though they have no solid reason.

Now it’s up to the House leaders to decide what happens next. They could debate the impeachment articles, send them to a committee, or simply vote to stop the process. But with the current political balance, it’s unlikely anything will come from this latest impeachment effort.
