A shocking case has emerged involving a 9-year-old boy who allegedly whispered chilling words to his mother while hospitalized, accusing her of poisoning him. The mother is accused of tampering with her son’s IV drip by introducing feces into it while he was receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital. The boy, whose identity has not been disclosed, was in critical condition with a high fever and delirium when the alleged incident occurred.

Nurse Lindie, who cared for the boy during his hospitalization, testified in court about the disturbing interactions she witnessed between the boy and his mother. She recalled that the boy was in severe pain, complaining of discomfort in his back, stomach, and head, and repeatedly asked for medication. Lindie also noted that the boy exhibited behavioral issues, including being demanding and swearing at hospital staff.

During one shift, Lindie overheard the boy asking his mother, “Why are you doing this to me?” and later saying, “You could have put something in my cannula when I was asleep.” The next day, the boy allegedly confronted his mother again, asking, “Why are you poisoning me?” Lindie took these statements seriously and reported them to child protection services via email. She described the boy as being in a state of extreme stress during this time.

Another nurse, Kristina, who worked the same shifts as Lindie, corroborated the testimony. She recalled hearing the boy ask his mother, “What have you done to my cannula this time?” and the mother responding, “Why would you say that? That makes me upset when you say those things.” When questioned by the mother’s lawyer, Kristina admitted it was possible she misheard the boy, but she stood by her account of the events.

After the boy’s tragic death, a blood sample tested positive for the bacteria E. coli, which could have been caused by various factors, including contamination. The mother has pleaded not guilty to the charges of poisoning her son’s IV drip with feces, and the case continues to unfold years after the boy’s death.

This heartbreaking story raises serious questions about the circumstances surrounding the boy’s hospitalization and death. The allegations against the mother are deeply troubling, and the case highlights the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable patients, especially children, in medical settings.
