Keir Starmer ‘Far More Dangerous Than the Right Admit’ – Francis Foster Issues ‘Troubling’ Warning

83views

Political activist Francis Foster has raised concerns about Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer, calling him “far more dangerous” than many on the right might think. Speaking at the ARC Conference in London, Foster pushed back against claims that Starmer is unintelligent, pointing out that someone doesn’t become the Director of Public Prosecutions by being “stupid.”

He described Starmer as a competent and honest leader who is clear about his goals, even if Foster disagrees with many of his policies. Foster praised Starmer’s integrity, saying he has more of it than the Conservative Party, and warned that this makes him a formidable political figure.

Foster highlighted specific areas where he believes Starmer’s policies could have a significant impact. He pointed to Starmer’s focus on tackling hate speech, suggesting that this could lead to the introduction of stricter hate speech laws.

Foster also noted Starmer’s apparent sympathy for blasphemy laws, which he sees as a potential threat to free speech. On immigration, Foster acknowledged that Labour has taken a tougher stance than the Conservatives by stating that those who come to the UK illegally won’t be granted citizenship. He criticized the Conservatives for failing to address illegal immigration effectively, allowing the issue to grow out of control.

Despite Starmer’s competence and policy clarity, recent polling shows he faces challenges in public opinion. A YouGov poll revealed that Starmer trails behind most former prime ministers in head-to-head comparisons. He only outperforms Liz Truss, while figures like Boris Johnson, Rishi Sunak, and even Margaret Thatcher are more popular. Former Labour leaders Tony Blair and Gordon Brown also lead Starmer by significant margins. This suggests that while Starmer may be seen as competent, he hasn’t yet won over the public in the same way as his predecessors.

Foster’s comments come at a time when Labour is dealing with several political challenges, including scandals over freebies, protests from farmers, and backlash over Chancellor Rachel Reeves’s Budget. Despite these issues, Foster believes Starmer’s ability to implement his policies effectively makes him a serious and potentially dangerous political force. He warned that underestimating Starmer could be a mistake for his opponents.

Meanwhile, the Conservative Party is struggling in the polls, with support falling to 22%, behind both Labour and Reform UK. This reflects broader dissatisfaction with the current political landscape and suggests that both major parties are facing significant challenges as they try to win over voters. Foster’s assessment of Starmer as a competent and honest leader, combined with his warnings about the potential impact of Labour’s policies, adds another layer to the ongoing debate about the direction of UK politics.
