I Make £1,000 a Week!’ – Illegal Migrant Speaks Out After Police Raid Factory & Arrest Him (VIDEO)
In a dramatic crackdown on illegal immigration, record numbers of foreign nationals have been arrested for abusing UK immigration rules, GB News can reveal. Increasingly, EU nationals, particularly Romanians and Bulgarians, are exploiting the Common Travel Area (CTA) agreement between the UK and Ireland to enter the country illegally and find work. Others are arriving on tourist visas, securing employment, and overstaying their visas in breach of UK law.
GB News was granted exclusive access to accompany Immigration Enforcement teams, who have ramped up raids by a third since the new Labour government came to power. Under the cover of darkness, officers targeted a large agricultural business in North Wales, where they swiftly detained a Romanian national working illegally. The man, who had entered the UK on a six-month tourist visa, was arrested for breaching the conditions of his leave to remain.
“You’re not allowed to work on this visa,” an officer told the suspect. “You’re under arrest for breaching the conditions of your leave to remain in the UK. Do you understand?”
The raid uncovered a cluster of caravans housing more Romanian workers, all suspected of working illegally. Officers revealed that many of these individuals likely entered the UK via Ireland, exploiting the CTA to avoid border checks. “We’ve got individuals we can trace exiting the country, but no record of them entering,” one officer explained. “In the past, we’ve found they come through Ireland and then into the UK, bypassing controls.”
The CTA, designed to facilitate travel between the UK and Ireland, has become a “back door” for illegal migration, according to enforcement teams. “It’s not just EU nationals,” an officer said. “Other foreign nationals are also using this route to enter the UK illegally.”
The suspects detained in North Wales are part of a growing trend. While the Home Office has not provided a detailed breakdown of arrests by nationality, enforcement teams report a “significant” increase in EU nationals, particularly Romanians and Bulgarians, working illegally in the UK. Many are lured by the prospect of high wages, with some earning up to £1,000 per week.
Employers who hire illegal workers face fines of up to £45,000 per worker, yet thousands continue to flout the law. Since Labour took office, immigration enforcement activity has increased by over a third, resulting in more than 3,000 arrests in the past six months. However, this represents only a fraction of the estimated 1.5 million illegal immigrants believed to be in the UK.
“It’s a drop in the ocean,” said Mark White, GB News Home and Security Editor, who accompanied the raid. “Despite the excellent work of these enforcement teams, the scale of the problem is enormous. Unofficial estimates suggest at least 1.5 million people are working illegally in the UK, costing the economy billions and placing strain on public services.”
The issue of illegal migration is fueling political upheaval, with recent polls showing Reform UK overtaking both Labour and the Conservatives. A new poll by Find Out Now places Reform UK at 27%, ahead of Labour on 23% and the Conservatives on 21%. Nigel Farage’s party has made immigration a central issue, capitalizing on public frustration over both legal and illegal migration.
“People are sick of the migration crisis,” White added. “Whether it’s illegal workers exploiting loopholes or legal migration running at record levels, voters are turning to Reform UK for answers.”
As enforcement teams continue their crackdown, the government faces mounting pressure to address the systemic flaws in the UK’s immigration system. For now, the raids serve as a stark reminder of the challenges ahead in securing Britain’s borders and restoring public trust.
